Having fitted the rubber gaiters yesterday and a good weather forecast for today I thought I had better take the bike out for a test ride
. The difficult decision was should I do the Shap-Penrith-Alson-Teesdale loop or should I thrill the good peaple of Cumbria with my visit. The view of the snow capped mountains of the Lake District on the way up decided it. It was one of those days when it seems a waste to stop for lunch rather than just to carry on riding. Warm, dry and very little traffic. The Kirkstone Pass had a road closed sign at the Windermere end but I figured I would give it a go anyway. Result, even less traffic and no sign of any road closed, it doesn't get much better 8) . I stood in the road to take this photo with the Langdale Pikes in the distance.
