Best way to wire in an illuminated clock .....with temp gauge
#1
Just bought one of these to try as my gen 1 Fazer doesn't have a clock:

The int/ext voltmeter, temp gauge and backlight all come on with the 12v supply (the clock being run by a couple of cell batteries).  I was pondering wiring it to the ignition, then the lighting and then wondered what your thoughts were.

I always ride with sidelights on (as a minimum) and I don't want any more drain when I turn the ignition on than I have to (I always have the side lights and heated grips off when I start the bike).

The side lights would seem like a good point and I suspect the load will be virtually unnoticeable but I dunno since I'd like the temp gauge to always be on.

Thoughts ?

Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one.  Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.
