Hi- I need to replace my chain and sprockets on my bog standard 2002 Gen1 fazer 1000. I don't ride hard ( but don't ride like a vicar either !) - so what x-ring do people suggest for best quality/ best value - I don't need the heaviest super duty race chain, just something that is better than o.e.m. spec- perhaps something like a DID 530 VXGB or an EK x-ring chain.?? I have read somewhere that it is always advisable to use a new Yamaha front sprocket, as other makes make more noise- is this true? The Yam sprockets cost much more than say a Sunstar or JT sprocket - I see chain/sprocket packages that are very reasonable which use cheaper front sprockets, I just wonder if it is false economy and I would be better to go for the Yam front sprocket, and buy the chain and rear sprocket all separately - advice please, Cheers!
