I've bought s/h off ebay in the past with no problems, but last year opted for new EBC discs. They're quite a bit lighter than the OE ones thanks to the alloy centres, a bit grabby at first until the pads had bedded in and now they're nice and progressive dry or wet. Only problem I've found is they're much more prone to seizing the pads to the disc if you park the bike up when they're wet... makes it a bugger to get the bike off the centrestand, but is fine once you've got it moving again.
