my 1st foray into motoring was a honda cub50 was brilliant even though i got told off by Mr Plod within 2 hours of owning it. the ink on my insurance wasn't even dry!!
then during the miners strike it was great fun I took the baffles out the fairing off and 2up on L plates went to pub where all the off duty coppers were drinking!
next was a Yamaha 75 automatic again great fun. I left it at my parents house when I went away with the navy only to find out when I got back that it had been donated to a local scout group who used the wheels for a trailer and the engine for them to learn basic mechanics on it!!
& yes I nod at the ones I pass (except the ones riden by 'Erberts!)
lots of 16/17 yo in cornwall have them as they are cheap form of transport to get to college/jobs etc without having to rely on parents been taxi's and the fact that some rural areas have bad public transport (our village has 3 buses a day but nearest bus stop from our house is still 1/2 mile away!! & it gives them road sense before they start to try & afford driving lessons or cant afford a car because of insurance.
Would I have one again? yeah why not be ideal to pop to the shop for pint of milk etc rather than getting the cage fired up for the mile each way to the shop!

It ain't what you ride, it's who you ride with!!!
