Unless it is a very good full system , some thing like the full apovik then you lose bottom end. The sandy spears for example will lose you a bunch though not as much as will just removing the valve and blanking it off.
Those that have gone this way I belive just leave the cables connected to stop the code. If I remember other threads on it.
Most would agree the valve is needed and most would also agree that it is a pain in the ass and pocket when it plays up.
But it is simple to service and keep working if looked affter.
