Steve. Only accident involving injury need to be reported and that must be within 24 hours so not even immediate.
Section 170 RTA states that a reportable acident mustĀ take place on a road, involve a mechanically propelled vehicle, and result in damage to property or injury to a person other than the driver. (That's off the top of my head btw.)
And it must be reported within 24 hours, or as soon as practicable.
It's all a bit 'tongue in cheek' with regards to the damage, as pretty much all collisions on the road result in some kind of damage to property no matter how minor, unless your car/bike is made of marsh mallow, or covered in bubble wrap. :lolĀ I've been to quite a few bumps, and all of them have resulted in damage of some kind, not all damage/injury have been noticeable at the time, hence why all accidents should be reported really.
