also, being a road accident with an injury, the police need to be told anyway which is why they attended. Not true, I was involved in a Road Traffic Collision and they did not turn up even though I was injured. I phoned them and they just said as long as we had exchanged details that was enough. I even had to get the wife to take me to hospital. So it depends on what sort of switchboard operator you get.
