i would take the tank off and check all wiring,making sure its routed correctly and cables are in damage free condition 

Oh I will be indeed, after work. I think wet stuff got in somewhere as the blizzard was rather heavy. Thing is, the bike was sat there under the car port when the main fuse blew, it probably blew when I turned the key, maybe I didn't turn the key properly and buzzed it, I dunno
