That's what I thought. The speed sensor is linked to the ignitor box via the pick up coil (see wiring diagram here: [size=78%]http://www.docstoc.com/docs/26736963/FZS...NG-DIAGRAM[/size] ) and somehow has a bearing on how the engine runs. I'm currently trying to find out exactly what happens if you remove either the speedo or the speed sensor. If the speed sensor is removed or not working properly then you get a fault code on the rev counter where the needle constantly moves between 3,000rpm and zero.


I have just bought a 1999 FZS600 as a project bike and want to remove the sensor and speedo, but don't want to end up with a ill running engine as a result, hence my question.
