I think you do need to tell from what I recall from a previous similar Question. To me and you, it's just another insurance rip off 'cos they'll tell you that if the bike's not roadworthy, (taxed and mot'd) then it doesn't fall within their terms and conditions so you need to re-insure with another 'off road' insurer 'cos 'we' don't give that cover. Oh and that means your insurance will now be terminated, for which there's a £35 admin fee and with pro-rata refund of months remaining we'll give you £xx pounds back with a fee for cancellation, blah blah blah. I used to surrender my tax, but for what it's worth, don't bother now. Means I'm more of a risk to the buggers 'cos I might just take my bike out in the ice and snow mighn't I? and I never used to when it was sorned for winter. Buggers!!!
