I used to have a Quill straight through pipe on mine, it didn't need re-jetting, and caused no problems, and even got through MOT's.
I now have a Moto GP can, which sounds a bit lively and has BSAU markings, and i've drilled the outlet holes bigger on the baffle to let the air flow a bit better whilst staying 'legal', and it's worked rather well.
You are supposed to declare an aftermarket can to your insurers as well, just so they don't use it as an excuse not to pay on a claim!
