well done paul...it gives hope for the rest of us. I look on my gen1 as something which owes me nothing, so why think of selling it??
I have paid £4500 for mine including all my numerous mods, so far have done 30k miles since buying 4 yrs ago, would only get £2500 to 3000 to sell if I am lucky , so might as well keep her .£2k loss for 30 k miles isnt bad either...when you look at cost of new bikes etc etc.
I do have dreams of topping the 100k barrier , but probably fuel costs and time constraints mean that wont ever be achieved....but its tempting to try for it , and very reassurring the motor at least will do it OK.
Apart from the exup, almost everything else on the bike is easy / cheap serviceable/ replacement , so even wearing out of parts isnt that great a shake...and if we ever did find a reasonable header replacement to oust the exup, well thats all bases sorted IMO.
