Isn't it funny that the bike you are selling will always have a bigger depreciation issue than the one you want to buy. Or at least it seems that way. I used to change my bikes every three years or so but have had my Gen 1 Fazer for around six years. It's a 2005 bike that was nine months old when I got it. I paid £5,500 for it and I guess that in a private sale it's now woth around £3,500. Two grand in six years is more than acceptable to me. At the moment I am looking for a BMW1200RT to add to my garage and the depreciation on those seems very slow. A two-year old in dealers is only around £1500 less than a new one.

In the summer my local yam dealer offered me £3000 for my 05 gen 1 and that was with no p/x, so your dealer having a laugh on your 05. I still turned my dealer down though
he did say he would put it up in the showroom for £4000 and confident he would get that for it. I could'nt live with that. I bought the gen 1 new prereg'd from him for £5500 all them years ago
