Your welcome Mike, I cannot understand why Bristol Kawasaki choose to let you think the bike could not be repaired at a reasonable cost, it looks like an insurance quote to financially write of the bike. Appears to me to be an ulterior motive for trying to convince you to sell the bike cheaply to them or a known breaker. Judging by the pictures you have posted, the bike is exceptionally clean. Looks like it is garaged and has not seen much bad weather.
Most bikes have front end damage and the fairing takes the impact even if they fall over therefore making good second hand fairings as rare as hens teeth. Post a picture of the right hand side of the bike focusing on the exhaust. Usually there are scuff marks consistant with a fall on the right side. At the moment there are 5 standard exhausts available on Ebay (3 look in excellent condition) ranging in price from £20 to £70
Maybe it is time to buy a manual, some basic tools and a torque wrench and strip the bike yourself. You could get some help to put it back together
Maybe there are some Foccers in or around Bristol who are more helful than Bristol Kawasaki.
