The 2010 onwards R6 shock is from a bike weighing about 170kg dry
It fits (and works well) on the Fazer 1000 which is 208kg dry
From what I can see, this mod for the 1000 largely works due to the retention of the original suspension linkages.
So if the R6 shock fits the Fazer 600 and uses the 600's suspension linkages, it may well suit a bike that weighs somewhere in between the two (189kg dry?), particularly with the spring preload backed off near minimum.
Theory is all very well, we've now reached the point where someone needs to fit it. Unfortunately, while I do have an R6 shock and a Fazer 1000, I have no 600 :-)
