Ditto.
I've had my FZS1000 since last March and initially I loved it. Over the last few thousand miles however, the inevitable comparisons are creeping in. There's nothing wrong with the bike it's great all rounder, but like any all rounder compromises are present. I've owned several boxer twins, Triumph triples etc and in comparison to those (or even the Bandit 1200) the Fazer is a bit bland, buzzy and somewhat clinical. It's probably a better bike than all of them on paper, but somehow much less endearing.
I've come to accept that it's no fault of the Fazer though as it's a cracking bike, I just prefer the engine characteristics of a twin or a triple over those of a four so it's down to personal preference. Lesson learned for me, so it sounds like two of us will be leaving the fold in the near future.
