Happy days, found the problemĀ  Big Grin
The cable adjustment at the sprocket cover was too tight, so the push rod wasn't allowing the clutch to fully engage as it was not returning far enough back for the clutch plates to make a strong contact.
It's always the simple thingsĀ  :o
