Big miles are no problem, just be sure to grab a water & chocolate bar (I go for Fruit 'n Nut, Lion Bar or a Picnic) at every fuel stop, maybe a coffee/red bull every second or third just to be on the safe side.
Did Glasgow to Lille in one hit on a SuperDuke, London to Glasgow on a DRZ400 and Portsmouth to Glasgow on my wee FZ6, my FZ1 feels like a foccin' sofa in comparison.
Aim for about 100 miles between stops, long enough to cover the distance, not too long that you get stiff and start to lose concentration.
