Because the screw thread is tight against the cylinder head threads, I would think the wet you are seeing is something in the plug holes, as said before, water, oil etc. I would have given the top of the plugs a quick blow down with an air blower linked to a compressor to save any grit or dirt getting into the combustion chamber and sticking to the valves etc. I would be looking more at the colour of the electrodes at the end of the plugs. HTH.
