My cam chain was getting pretty noisy at startup around 27-28k, I took it off to reset it (tank off, shift carbs back/up and you can just get to it) but it didn't go away. Within another 1000 miles it'd clicked over and quietened down again.
I'd leave it and if it's still there in a k or two, then start to worry
