As you can see from the photo, the air-intake itself is totally clear. The photo below it shows the same view from a different angle, so you can see where the controller is stored. Honestly, I just cannot see how this could impact the air intake, and a road test tonight confirms that it hasn't made a blind bit of difference to the power at any level.
According to the manufacturer, the grips can be connected directly to the battery, but I put it through an ignition source via a relay, just in case
. The "Sports" tag just relates to the fact that the grips are slimmer and a tad better looking than the more utilitarian version, but both heat up equally quick.
I know what you're saying about the Grip Puppies Pete, but I think they look a bit tacky, can introduce hand-fatigue because they are bulky and don't look very resilient. And then of course you've got the separate heating elements in there. All seems a bit "Heath Robinson".
