1998 Mk1 FZS600 Fazer Low miles - SOLD
#1
I have had this bike for around 12 months since passing my big bike test last year.

It has been an excellent starter big bike being quick and economical with a commanding riding position (more about this later). I serviced it in April ready for the summer season so new oil and filter and fresh plugs. It was MOT'd last month and went through with no advisories. I replaced both tyres about 800 miles ago with Bridgestone Battlax BT023 which transformed the bike tbh - it stopped the squirming about on the tyres that it seemed to do on the BT021's previously fitted.

The bike has some desirable mods which make riding it and keeping it clean that bit easier: Oxford heated grips, carbon Pyramid rear hugger, fenda extenda, double bubble screen, Givi rear rack and plate (will be keeping the topbox) a belly pan which shows signs of light scuffs on both sides (not dropped whilst I have had the bike!). Stainless radiator cover. I removed the downpipes in April when I serviced the bike and wire brushed them, then painted them with VHT black.

So why am I selling it? I am now doing about 50 miles per day and I am finding it aggravates my back problem - I have bought some Renthal 758's (£30) and stainless bar ends (£25) to try and get into a different position but still find that my back is getting twinges.

I have tried my cousins VFR and found this suited my back much better so I am going to look for one of those. I think it is a combination of my frame and my back issue that is causing the discomfort. A mate has a Fazer and has ridden it daily for about 6 years with no back problems at all.

Anyway, the bike is red and black and looks nice and presentable when cleaned although it does have the usual marks you would expect from a 14 year old bike. The wheels are very tidy (I saw a few with chipped/bubbling paint when I looked for this one).
Just under 19,000 miles which is backed by a wad of MOT's and some history from previous owners of which there have only been three.
I get around 53 mpg commuting which includes B roads, a stretch of dual carriageway and about 4-5 miles in the city (Nottingham)

The bike goes, corners and stops well and it very trustworthy for a new rider.

I can talk about a deal if you are interested as I would like £1,300 as it stands or I can remove the bars, screen and rack and sell for £1,200. The tax runs out at the end of this month but I could tax at cost for a buyer (£55).

At this price I don't see how you could lose money on this as a first bike if you run it for a year and sell it next spring or you could keep it an it will go on for years (I have seen Fazers with 90k on them!)

Drop me a PM or call me on 07813 847812.

Located in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S45 - near Junction 29 of the M1 - I can talk about delivery options (such as I ride it to you and you pay the petrol and return train fare?)
