Hi All. New to biking
#8
iv been riding road bikesĀ  for over 20 years now and iv only just bought a fazer 600(1998) after problems with my back on 'sports'bikes, the fazer is an excelent bike, comfy, handles great, cheapish, good on fuel and easy fast enough but smooth with it,it would be an excelent first big bike or even for seasoned riders, like others have said the bike will only go as fast as you the rider make it,a smaller bike to get a bit of experiance would be a good idea if you can get one at the right price and if insurance is cheap but you will soon get 'bored' with a 125 so if you can get insurance at a good price on a fazer id say go for it and just be sensible and steady, maybe you can get a restriction kit of some form to start with?
whatever bike you decide on give it a good check over with engine been the obivious thing to check but also check the expensive parts ie brake discs, tyres, chain and sprockets etc, good luck with your test and have fun
