I doubt its worth me keeping the grips. Been on nearly 4 years now and are very warn. Almost smooth in many places. Will keep the controller as it still works and I have heard they often go.
Good point with using both though, belt and braces approach. I ride all year but in winter normally throw on some ugly muffs, allways nice and toasty inside with the grips on LOL.
But the oxford muffs have pouchs for heated pads, so if they fit over the dl guards that's also a good winter option.
