Excercise. Every day. Find a good physio, and JOGA. It's boooooring, but helpes A LOT. I've had back problems all my life (from early childhood) and managed to ride bicycle, bike, be quite good at track running, jumping and football as well. Make the best of it, don't give up. Let thet make you excercise regularly so you are fitter than 99% of those other 50 year olds. And NEVER give up!
Most things done in a hurry need to be done again - patiently.
