Two separate issues:
1) Check clearances.
2) Adjust valves.
The first part is easy, and they are often within tolerances. You could do that, and if you find they do need adjusted, worry about the procedure then. Unfortunately they're a camshafts out PITA to adjust, but then I guess most modern bikes are. The extended valve clearance check services intervals compensates for this a bit....
