a little help on spanner sizes

Get yourself a small set of spanners covering from 8mm to 14mm and you will have most of the bolt/nut sizes covered, Spanners are not expensive thesedays, Machine Mart or Halfords do reasonable quality ones for a few pounds, it's best to get the ones with a ring type wrench on one end and open ended on t'other.
Failing that, when he wheels your pride and joy out of the workshop/showroom ask the mechanic nicely if he'll spend a minute adjusting your levers to suit you.
