When I had friends in Gloucestershire I loved the run along the A417 from Streatley to Cirencester. There are some excellent stretches through beautiful countryside... used to set off at 6:30 in the evening to miss the worst of the traffic and arrive a couple of hours later with my visor opaque with splattered midges and a huge grin on my face.
Unfortunately, even before my friends moved a decade ago, sections started getting double white lines, 40 limits and speed cameras... so I don't suppose there's much fun to be had along there now.
