up a jet size??? who'd of known    i thought fazers ran rich as per norm, im guessing that maybe they dont run as rich as some think?

cheers matey...yep we discussed the `richness` but as there is a k and n fitted ( better breathing apparently :rolleyes  ) maybe the extra `bit` was obviously needed to balance out the `leany` ( is there such a word....there is now) issue. we discussed at length i might add, why the bike run sweet as a nut on original jets with replacement end can and k and n filter for best part of 2 years. we come to the conclusion that smoke and mirrors came into play at some point.   still a total mystery. bike now runs as it did ( if not more pokey ) before.
