I'd just like to point out that when I said I did some basic stretching exercises, i did mean just that. I'm not a very flexible chap and all I did was to wake my muscles up a little. I find that if you stretch just to the point where you can feel the tightness, say in your leg muscles, then hold it there for a few seconds before relaxing and moving on to the next ones, you shouldn't cause yourself any injury! As Ghoti says, don't do it if your muscles are cold! Try walking around a little to warm them slightly. I'd also like to point out that I'm not in any way qualified in the art of muscle stretching and could be talking complete b*ll*cks. If in doubt, always consult a doctor!
