i tried my mate's FZ1 before i had my gen1. within 5 mins i had the pegs on the deck and was going obscenely fast.
FZ1 is (imo) a comfy R1, whereas the gen1 is a genuine all rounder (once you have changed the springs. carburation, mirrors, bars, forks...................................
