That's not quite how battery acid works ... Hydrogen Sulphate is the "alien blood" that I described above. Its tricky stuff to handle (water boils on contact with it) and you can easily use it to make a nice variety of high explosives :evil (gun cotton, for example).
They don't put it in dry batteries.
They do however come "dry charged" which means that the plates contain oxide and lead in the right places.
Add acid - you get a charged battery.
Add water - you get a paperweight.
