Yup, very helpful link. See post #27. You need a 26mm socket on a long extension of some kind to hold the brass cap at the top of the damper tube. The damper tube is released by undoing the allen bolt which fixes it through the bottom of the fork leg.
The allen bolt is thread-locked. An impact gun is a help but not essential.
