HiFlo are decent quality paper, OE-style filters. I use their oil filters in my Fazer and both air and oil filters in the R1. 
No difference performance-wise between K&N and BMC. Some K&N filters still come with the top flange moulding slightly too large for the Fazer airbox. Nothing that a few minutes Dremel-time can't fix, though.
