Basics first, have you kinked the pipe. Did you deffo switch fuel tap on?
The fuel light is a bit of a red herring as it probably means you havnt reseated the connector on the tank right, however it does mean you've got to lift tank again so you have an excuse to double check everything now
Also the bike should at least fire with what was left in the carbs so is the cutout switch etc ok?
