not as a sole bike, but would consider it as part of a stable if I ever got the opportunity. never been a knee down chin on tank rider. but it might be nice to have the option. power delivery was fun though -bit more urgent that the 800 but wasnt as manic as I'd expected. couldn't live with the cramped knees for long though, and I like long trips.
my tiggerXC is part chelsea tractor, part landy. ie I intend to green lane/forest trail with it but it'll be once in a blue moon. its having the option if the chance is there.
I love the smooooth torque curve which can feel flat coming from a more hightly tuned engine, but then you realise it can pull from low in any gear with no snatch whatsoever. the riding position is great for me too - I've got the seat on high and can't always flat foot both sides - but that's only a problem when your stopped :lol
still getting used to it when filtering in heavy traffic due to the wide bars which exaggerate movements. not bad, just different, even to the renthal 758s I had on the Thou.
check out the tiger800 forum, there's plenty folks who have lowered their tigers - both versions. give it a look, Mick is the man making the bits.
