I'd make sure it had a set of braided brake hoses and that its tyres were less than 5 yrs old.
Stopping and preventing metal-tarmac contact ... Important.
Other stuff ... less important and can usually be fixed reactively for a less than £100.
Also , don't ride it when there's salt on the roads. Salt dissolves FZS600s starting with the rear brake calipers, moving on to the engine paint, then the rear suspension linkage and then the downpipes.
