The increased vibes with the ignition advancer come in high up the rev range. There's no peak power gain worth speaking of but it does sharpen up the throttle response low down. That's why a lot of us do the mod. 
This motor has no balancer shaft so there will always be secondary vibes. Altering the TPS setting has the effect of moving the standard ignition advance map around a little which in turn shifts any midrange vibes up or down a bit.
If you can't dial out the vibes sufficiently by tweaking the TPS, see what happens if you go back to a stock advancer.
