from The Netherlands
#1
Hello everyone here, I am Hans (72) and I live in the Netherlands. No April Fool's joke, but on April 1st I bought my 2000 FZS600 Fazer in beautiful condition (will post a photo later). I am actually the 3rd owner.

It is my 20th motorcycle, honestly. In 1999 I also bought a brand new black FZS600. But well, after a while I want to try something different again. I really am a Yamaha fan and have owned an FJR1300 4 times, among others. Now a Fazer again. Probably my last motorcycle, though... The FZS600 is a nice little machine, enough power, handles well and, above all, is quite lightweight. I do a lot of the maintenance myself. I only leave checking and adjusting valve clearance and carburetion tuning to the expert.
I just got back from a weekend away with friends, about 25 people. Despite the rain and no ABS, the engine ran like a sewing machine.

I will ask a question further down; it doesn't seem that complicated to me, but so far I haven't been able to find an answer.

Additionally, I hope to find enough other info.

UPDATE: picture of my new love...

Regards, Hans

Welcome

One thing I will say for The Netherlands, is you guys and girsl seem to have a more vibrant motorcycle eco-system and community than we do in the UK (The Uk used to be better than it now is). A a lot of the makers of clothing and other m/c stuff are based over there.

For FZS600 questions head over to the relevant section - https://foc-u.co.uk/mybb/forumdisplay.php?fid=78

Welcome to the forum Hans, nice to see another senior citizen still seriously into their motorcycling. I’m 80 this year, still at it but envy your youth. Cool looking 600…enjoy
