Gen 1 Refurb? Or Replace?

Thanks for the confirmation that I’m doing the right thing Took (for me anyway). Along with saving myself a fair few quid as well.

This is my third Gen1 over a period of about 17yrs and I’ve had this one for about 8yrs. I suspect it will be in my garage for many more years to come now.

Few more pics, albeit not of the best quality............. Engine went back in today. Wheels back from powder coating along with both stands.

Waiting on some parts now from Fowlers before the exhaust can go back on.

I’d love to be able to take the credit for the quality of this job............Sadly, I can’t. A good friend of mine owns his own workshop. Clearly with the Covid crisis, his work has slowed right down. As a consequence, I was able to finally persuade him to take on the Fazer resto job.

Works for both of us really. I haven’t got the skills / tools available to do the job myself and clearly, with lock down, I can’t really be taking stuff to others either. He’s got all of the gear / talent, having done plenty of his own restorations over the years.
I’m lucky enough to have provisionally sold an old bike (when we can finally complete the deal), so the funds for that will go towards paying for this.
I’ll post more pics as and when I get them.
Sorry to disappoint. ?
