Restaurants that have those poxy salt & pepper grinders filled with rock salt and pepper corns. There's nothing worse than crunching down on a foccin great boulder of salt when you're tucking in to your steak and chips :wall Whatever's wrong with shakers? :rolleyes

Rock salt? At least they put it in those handy bins at the side of the road. Often pop out to fill up the salt cellar

I try to use cash wherever possible otherwise it just gives them an excuse to do away with it. I still insist on taxing all my fleet at the Post Office as well so that have to keep them open Quote:Transport for the masses. Got a problem with that? I tend to use my automobile, or if it’s a nice day one of my motorcycles. I suppose somebody has to use the bus.

It was 11.40 for my check up and polish (nhs prices), so I pulled out a 20 spot as I was low on change. Oh she said, you couldn’t pay by card could you – just we don’t have any change. It won’t be long coming.

You can talk with people, strangers even. Socialise, observe others, smile at people. Bumped into a n old school pal a few weeks ago, not seen him for 50 years but he recognised me instantly I got on the bus. Turns out he only ever moved half a mile away. Its even better now I'm on oldie and its free between 9.30 am till 11pm

Quote:I love to try to go with cash when buyingThe world is changing Agricola. Was recently in one of these new gold-plated palaces that pass for bike shops these days. I was drooling over some bike or other, the sales man was trying to run me through his deal, ‘.......so then it’s just 150 quid a month......... blah blah blah blah'. How much fae cash mate, I asked. I’m sorry he replied. You’ll do me a nice number for cash pal – yeah? Oh, hmmm, cash, I see, err don’t get many of em now, and he started back on his PCP deal. I figured every single punter that walks in the door of that gold plated palace is, to them, a potential new bike buyer – just get em singed up on the PCP. But when some bugger walks in that can actually afford to buy what they are selling they ain’t foccin interested.

No wonder you've got cash if you only pay 11.40 for a dental checkup. It's almost 3 times that here and you'd pay extra for a polish.

I'm not totally dogmatic about it. I'll pay for big items with card because it makes sense to have the extra protection that provides in the event of an issue and obviously everything online is card + garage bills etc... It's just for the day to day stuff I still like good old cash. (02-12-19, 08:02 PM)VNA link Wrote: I was at the dentist the other day.
