Cars with aftermarket tinted rear lights. Right now they really get my goat.
VNA just avoided a trip to A&E this evening. Out on the bike. Just come round a corner onto a big long straight. The low sun is in my eyes but not really impeding visibility. Passed a couple of cars, and zipping along the straight. It leads eventually into a long sweeping bend with a minor road junction on the right.
I’m approaching the bend. There’s a car ahead which was moving at a fair rate but suddenly I’m gaining on it rapidly, then it dawns on me it’s maybe going to take the junction and I’m on the brakes like foc – full on emergency stop.
I fail. Foc foc foc. As I pass the car I notice the heavily smoked rear lights and a dull blink from the indictor. I’m at least lucky the young dude checked his mirror and didn’t turn on me.
I stop inches in front of his car. I turn and chase after him. Find him turning into a farm driveway a few hundred yards down the road he turned off into.
Seriously his lights were blacked out. Young boy has VNA raging at him. I’m screaming at him like a madman.
I mean why black out perfectly good lights. Why would you not want people to see your brake lights and indicators. Foccin why?
And why would you want to invite people to drive/ride straight in the back of you. I didn’t see his brake light or indicator.
Of course, VNA also needs to slow down and pay more attention. :o That was way too close. :eek
its a fucking jungle out there mate. Just glad you didn't become another statistic. stay safe dude...ps we agree on summat...Alan Partridge is genius...DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!!
I hit a kid in Leicester once who fetched me off my zx12r on his scooter. still feel shite about it now, he was piss thin and only about seventeen and I was mid forties, but what can you do. These things happen mate.
It's a big long very fast sweeping bend.My first thought was I was going to pop past him, then a split second later it dawned on me he was braking and going to make the turn.
Obviously if he hadn't blacked out his lights......... but then we've still gotta read everything that's happening even if the usual clues are missing.
Lucky there VNA, the two guys that got killed outside Lanark were not so lucky, I believe it was two foreign bikers turned on to the wrong side of the road after crossing the Hyndford Bridge over the river Clyde--RIP to them both --so sad.
Jesus Oldgit, that's dreadful.I've read it was a bike on bike head on.
You just never know.
Have to say I've had a handful of frights with folks on the wrong side of the road.

I'm not sure but if you could kindly foc off away more often I'm sure the rest of us would greatly appreciate the good weather :lol

Brilliant idea. I'll crowdfund my next holiday, if you could all chip in. I'm thinking Maldives? :thumbup
As for what's getting my goat...... the foccing weather predictions in this country!! How in this day and age can the met office still not have a damn clue what the weather will be like more than 10 minutes ahead??
I'd have better lick flipping a coin than listening to the weather report.
Tonight for example all day we have been forecast 'heavy showers' from 5 till 11. So cancelled our planned ride out with my mates but here I am sat home and not a foccing drop of rain to be had!?
And this is about the 5th or 6th time this month I've either cancelled planned rides for no reason or been caught out in tropical typhoons on 'sunny' days
Honestly.... they couldn't predict night time at sunset the bunch of useless twats

[/quote]Exactly - how unbelievably stupid are these designers, think about it you moron designers - when you are braking you are very likely to also be indicating too (unless you are in a BMW or Audi )
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.
