Quote:140? Sad foccer!! ?I'm lucky to see 90 out of a full tank ? admittedly it's not ideal but I don't generally go much further than that on it so it's alright ?

FZ1 has a silly little tank though. :lol

Quote:Best I've had was around 270 miles from a single tank, taking 22.5 litres to fill which is about 54mpg.

What the foc :eek  That's sad foccer territory.

I've managed just over 190 a few times before the light came on.  I'm usually between 140 and 160 after brimming it till the lamp comes on.

You lot don't know when you've got it good. My old Denco-tuned Kwak 750H2 was a proper thirsty beast. Don't know what it was getting to the gallon, but it didn't even make 2 miles on reserve one time, and that was taking it easy  :eek

After my first full week of usage, I got 47mpg for mainly motorway commute on a  Gen 1.

Fairly happy with that.

generally about 150-160 miles before the light comes on for me too. thought that was riding pretty conservatively as well  :o :lol

Normally get 140-160 from a tank but recently brimmed it and rode smoothly but not that slowly over a couple of trips and got 217, brimmed the tank again today and got 19 litres in so 52MPG, certainly helps the wallet, pity I can't be that restrained all the time..................

Just rode from Stoke to Cognac on my Gen 1 Fazer 1000 with Full monty Ivans kit, tank bag, top box and tail pack. Mostly on Autoroutes at an indicated 80 to 90 mph all the way, but mostly 85 (except for the UK with the 50mph limit for most of the M6) and got about 46 mpg, at 150 miles i still had a quarter of the tank left.

I'm pleased with that, if i dropped the speed down to about 70, i would probably get well over 50mpg, but i want to actually get here ASAP.

In my defence I was only 12 years old.

Any where between  80 and 100miles to the tank full on my gen2 1000. I owned a tuned Suzuki GT750 Kettle in the mid 1980s with a little help from a heavy throttle hand could get it down to about 18mpg best it would do was 28mpg thirsty beast. It also drank 2 stoke oil like it was going out of fashion.

Best I've managed so far was 250 miles with the light on for the last few miles, French motorways this spring doing a steady 70-80 trying to get to Spain although it was in the pissing rain so most of the time I was hiding under the screen trying to keep at least some of me remotely dry and not freeze to death. This is with a one down front sprocket too!

It ain't what you ride, it's who you ride with!!!
