Well the donor fzs600 turned up last night.... R6 rear swingarm at the ready and a shit load of blood sweat and tears to come

definatly keep us updated - im thinking of going single sided swingarm on mine
but im a crazy fool who likes to jump in the deep end

Take care with your chain run, I've gone down a chain size and used a kwak front sprocket with an offset to give a bit of extra clearance from the swingarm. It gets pretty close where the nylon runner is. If it's any help I could take a few measurements from mine if you get stuck.
Edit- just saw you're looking at the later swing arm. Mine's the early model R6. 5EB I think.

Sweet bike. To me it looks more bobber than cafe racer.
Treat everything in life the way a dog would- if you can't eat it or foc it, forget it.

appears me and Celtic Dog have very different takes on the style Bobber
although a bobber is to a custom bike
what a cafe racer is to a daily ride bike
a trimmed down minimalist version of its original
i say daily ride loosly as i rode a gsx1100 chop for 5years as my daily but you know what i mean.

Yeah I think you're so right there fella. To me it still looks more of a muscle bike or street fighter than it is a cafe racer or a bobber which was probably what I was trying to get at initially.  :o  Either way it's a complete hooligan tool! Awesome bike.

I've never really understood the café racer thing. Each to his own I guess, but basically it appears to me you're just removing all the practical good bits and devaluing a classic bike. Fair enough if you've just crashed it mind!  :'(

Ditch the air box and replace with air filters which are more expensive and difficult to set up and run optimally.
Remove the under-seat storage (toolbox, puncture kit, chain/lock and waterproofs gone).
Remove the fairing and any wind protection and comfort.
Fit clip on /dropped handlebars to create a less comfortable riding position.
Fit dinky indicators that no one can see.
Fit some dodgy radial oversized tyres and drop the forks to ruin the handling.
Then tell the insurance company about all the mod's and watch your premiums go up.

I s'pose on the upside you might like the look of it, even if you don't enjoy riding it so much.  Wink Wink Big Grin Big Grin :b :b :eek :eek

Yep, told the insurance company about my headlights, after market exhaust, k&n filter, panniers and crash bars. Just shopped around and although fully comp, my premium is pretty low! Cheap enough to not bother risking not telling them.
