Rode it home from Stratford in terrential rain. Probably up there with the worst conditions I've ever ridden in and couldn't wait to get off the motorway.
what did you do with your fazer today ?

Replaced front pads, as one pad was nearly down to the metal. All the rest still had a fair bit left, annoyingly. No sticking pistons though. Bought rears for when I get around to it.
Now have front brakes that want to throw me over the bars again ![]() Blatted down to The Lakes for a breakfast butty.

Bought an r1 rear wheel, calipers and hanger... going to fit it to my new fazer.
Intentionally left blank

Yesterday snapped the clutch wire, just before leaving a group meet, just sat on the bike and pulled the clutch to engage in first and *snap*. Felt really bad to go home with the bus, but that meant I could have a beer or three before leaving.
Today went to the local Yamaha dealership and ordered a replacement. After work will go back to the bike and use a clutch repair kit to get it running, to get it to my parking, as it's a lot more secure compared to the place I left it yesterday.

M.O.T this afternoon. Passed :thumbup
Fitted a Fenda Extender. Rode my new Fazer from Sheffield to back home in East Lothian. A bit wet around Newcastle but lovely further north. Did a few spurts of "camchain tensioner maintenance' (I believe that's the phrase)

Ride safe man (rlkat )- but do you have any bends on your route :pokefun

No he wouldn't have left chicken strips on his tyres, he knew his bike inside out. :rollin
Swapped the hooked front sprocket for a new one and the chain makes a *lot* less noise now! Still was a bugger of a job trying to get the rear axle back through the wheel and took multiple attemps
![]() Also changed the oil and filter, found I had insufficient oil in the 5l container, so had to buy some more, then discovered that somehow I'd overfilled it, so had to drain some out and refill until the level was right!

Went out for a sunset ride - lots of wheat harvesting going on making loads of dust float across the road. Yes the first one was helped by photoshop but that is what was happening across the path.

Followed Sharpies lead and went for a ride in the country. Was a good little blat but my harrowing fuel consumption lead to an early return home

Changed the oil and filter after discovering that I'd last done it 8000 miles ago.
Filthy black muck out, nice fresh pink 10W40 in. I don't suppose it'll make the rattly old thing sound any quieter, but it'll hopefully keep it going until I can find a replacement. (Engine, that is... no plans to get rid of the Fazer.)

Had to properly say goodbye to my beautiful red beast by signing the paperwork as I had full conformation that it was a complete write off after the crash I had on 3rd of July due to some FOCCING asshole pulling out in front of me and slamming his brakes on. I have now bought a new bike however it's not a :faz as I couldn't afford the insurance for the FZS1000 as all my no claims bonuses are on hold until he finally admits fault, I can't see why he shouldn't as the is video evidence and 3 witness statements all stating he was driving like a twat any way long story short I bought a 2000 reg Honda VFR800FI (pre VTEC).
RIP my beautiful red beast 1999 to 2017 ???

I was quite lucky as no bones broken but was it a fair bit of pain though. Loving the new bike but can't help feel a bit like I'm cheating on Yamaha as I've only really owned Yamaha's until now (I don't count the fling I had with a cheap Chinese 125 as it was in for repairs more than I actually got to ride it :lol )

Not today, but last week, went to Scotland on the bike.
Stayed with family in Nairn. Did Bealach Na Ba, 2 distilleries (Glen Morangie, Dornoch Firth, and Glen Moray, Elgin), Kinlochewe Service Station (Applecross Pass??) Loch Ness, Fort Augustus and Urquhart Castle, Bruar Falls, the A9 roadworks and some sh*** weather. The only thing I regret was not getting to Dunnet Head and JOG. Still, a reason to go again. Arse fine, neck ache a killer, riding south on the A1 yesterday I've never driven so far leaning 30' into a crosswind......
Ex - FZS600 ‘03, now Versys 650 '14
