:agree You should try spending a Saturday night in a pub with a group of them, after they've started drinking and taking drugs at a funeral on the previous Monday and just carried on! They will always end up fighting someone, normally among themselves but sometimes others who are stupid enough to look at their orange coloured women, the toilets will undoubtedly need completely disinfecting and all of the large toilet rolls will get nicked by the end of the evening, even if it means kicking the holders off the wall to get to them.
Yet if you simply say to them that they're not welcome at the pub due to previous problems then up pops their legal representative using the race card.
I've had discussions before with people saying "they're not all that bad" so i always ask if they'd let them look after their house while they went on holiday, which then makes them a little bit more pensive.
A word of warning, when you see groups of them starting to down shots rather quickly then it's time for you to leave.

Hang on I would not let 95% of the foccers in here look after my house when I go away on holiday either.
The gypsy that I know well (Jess) is a true traveller boy (50 years old) he settled down about 6 years ago and formed a reputable (Ish) tree surgery company, he bought a plot of land about 1.5 acres and put a double mobile home on it, he has one of the best kept gardens in the area and does so much more for his local community than anyone else.
Jess gives logs to the elderly and delivers and stacks them for the recipients.
He cuts the grass at his local village church yard and cemetery with his own Allen scythe and takes the cuttings to the local recycle centre, and all this he does on a voluntary basis and he fits the cost for the fuel.
Now you must speak as you find and Jess is a dear guy, that's for sure and he has a real heart for those who are struggling, he gives of his time and his resources.
So I am standing up for Jess, just as I would stand up for anyone else I know if I thought that they were being given a hard time for no reason, yep even some of you miserable foccers in here.

I'm sure he is a very nice bloke Tommy, i don't deny that for one second, but that one man doesn't trump all the crap i've seen and had to deal with over the YEARS by a "community" that generally isn't too interested in outsiders, unless you have some work for them.
I know what i've seen over a long period of time so without going into gory detail nothing is gonna change my views on them.

Funnily enough I thought about this thread a couple of days ago, when I read about the ex mayor of Southend on sea getting into trouble for saying the travellers who want to settle there, should be sent back to Ireland with their 'thieving, filthy ways' and they were treated like pariahs because they are pariahs. As i've said before, spend a night in a pub with them, especially around Xmas time or if they've been drinking and taking drugs all week, night and day, after a funeral, then see what opinion you have of them then.
Some people have literally argued with me "They can't be THAT bad?" and i will disagree with them until i am blue in the face.

They don't do themselves any favours do they? They occasionally pull up in the park and ride carpark next to where my wife works. They use their kids as a distraction to enable them to thieve from the local shops. Or they park on a kids playground so nobody can use it and leave it looking like a shit tip. A farmer mate of mine had a load of new age travellers park on one of his fields. He would have been perfectly happy for them to stop there if they had only asked permission. But they didn't so he got the police round.
