I need to replace the chain and sprockets on my FZS600 as the current ones are worn. Any recommendations on which kit to buy? I want something reliable and long lasting and decent quality.
I looked about for that chain, that's a good price.
For about another £5 the same (trusted) company is selling the gold one as well which i have.
They look nice in summer, but if you're a winter rider as well it soon gets covered in shite.

Several times,
OK, so yam/Honda well, any manufacturer likes to add a couple of £'s to their branded items, but these sets were originally in excess of £400, remember this has the proper front sprocket with the rubber cushdrive, I've not had did match the mileage! https://www.ajsutton.co.uk/product/yamah...del=SPARES

Even at that bargain price it's still nearly double the cost, are you getting double the mileage in comparison?

50k out of the last one (admittedly with a chain oiler)
The oem front sprocket is a different kettle compared to the aftermarket ones

I think that the main trick about prolonging any chain is good maintenance, especially keeping it well lubed, even more so if you ride all year round or if your bike is left parked out in the elements a lot.
I had a shaft drive NTV for about 10 years before the Fazer and even i messed a chain up way earlier than expected due to lack of care, simply because i wasn't used to it, but i soon learned my lesson.

I like the OEM kit, it forces me to take the swingarm off and so I take the opportunity to clean and lube the suspension linkage.
Also, dealers were clearing out old stock a few years ago and you could pick up a set for less than £80.
Sadly my linkages have been neglected lately, the chain oiler means there is still plenty of life left in it after 45,000 miles.

Has anyone on here tried one of these and maybe noticed a difference?
Was thinking when the time comes I might give it a try.
