Having just got a fazer 1000 :b I noticed after a few minutes it's running hot on left hand side and a lot cooler on the right(sitting on bike)air filter cleaned..[size=78%]Carbs been balanced ok ..no obvious air leaks round rubbers on inlet..plugs changed they seemed ok...any ideas or is this normal for the thou???[/size]

not sure about differences in sides, how did you notice?
i would check radiator is getting warm all over and coolant levels are ok also....

did an oil change this morning and that's when I realised the left side getting hot..just checked again and it takes less than 2 minutes to occur..just checked coolant all ok..squeezed the hoses and can feel the coolant squishing in them so assuming all good there..
took the scottoiler off as well in case the spigot to carb was not sealed but that's ok..wondering if I need to do a carb rebuild over the winter..
she's running well generally so maybe jusr leave well alone !!
If you referring to the engine itself this would be normal. Very simple reason, the timing chain tunnel is on the right (as you sit on the bike) and if you feel the engine with you hand after a few minutes the heat from the cylinders can be felt directly on the left whereas on the right you are only feeling the outside of the timing chain tunnel.
