As the Fazer is now reserved for the Europe trip, took the Striple to the Lakes again.
![]() Blea Tarn and Langdale Pikes: ![]() Then headed for the Hardknott Pass, first time on the Striple: ![]() ![]() ![]() Hardknott Roman fort: ![]() Then Wasdale. Reflections: ![]() ![]() ![]() Oops! ![]() Was getting into a nice rhythm on the way back when some car came hacking it up behind me. The light was fading at this point so I let him go in front cos the Striple's headlights are pants, then chased him. He was moving, no idea what car it was, but three figure speeds were clocked, and fun was had!

Went to pick up a 48 from Riders today , unfortunately they didn't have one so i ended up hiring 1200c , same riding position and engine as the 48 , but 10 kgs heavier , the extra 400cc makes all the difference , plenty of torque , handling was fine , much better than i expected , sounds great , did lots of overtakes , filtering is excellent as the cagers hear you coming and get out of the way , i could see myself getting a 48 in a couple of years , rode it to Weymouth , then onto Minehead , then back to Riders of Bristol , 230 miles of sunshine and dry roads , it was fantastic .

went metal detecting with my new Nokta Fors Core machine today, reasonable success, lots of junk, brass etc. and 2 coins --no too bad for a beginner.

Just returned from 60 miles cycling in the hills in the Ruthin, Denbigh area, on my Dolan carbon fibre, Campag. equipped bike. Nice quiet roads, not many vehicles at all.

Our 9 year old Bosch Washing machine stopped working last night, drum was turning intermittently, but would not spin.
Considering its age reckoned it was motor brushes, got a set of Bosch brushes specifically for it this morning at a cost of €25 One hour later; motor out, brushes changed and everything back together, sorted. :thumbup Brushes definitely worn :eek |
